I bought this exact watch in 1998. I can see no differnce in the design on the one pictured. All the words on the face are the same as well. This watch keeps perfect time. You need to wind it if you don't wear it everday. It definately makes a statement if you wear it to work or wear it out and someone notices it. Although most people will think you have a cheap copy. An easy way to tell is if the second hand appears to smoothly sweep from second to second vs. holding on each second and the ticking to the next. I've bumped it into things plenty over the years and to my surpise the watch has never ended up with a mark on it. The crystal on the face is made extra tough to endure some punishment. I don't own any other watches without a ding or two (and I have my fair share of watches). Even the bezel has never been damaged in a bump.
